What Is a Sound Bath – and Why Do Women Love Them So Much?

What actually happens at a sound bath?
If you've never been to a sound bath before, you might be wondering what on earth happens at one.
Do you have to meditate? Do you need to know anything about sound healing? Do you have to sit cross-legged on the floor looking serene?
Absolutely not. 😊
At my Calm Queen sound baths, the idea is actually very simple: you arrive, get comfortable and, for a little while, nobody needs anything from you.
And for many of the women who come to me, that in itself feels pretty special.
So, what is a sound bath?
A sound bath is a relaxation experience where you're surrounded by the sounds and vibrations of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Himalayan bowls and chimes.
You don't have to do anything.
You can lie down, wrap yourself in a blanket, close your eyes if you'd like to and simply listen.
Some people focus on the sounds. Some notice their thoughts gradually quietening. Some drift somewhere between awake and asleep.
And yes... some become so relaxed that I occasionally feel as though I could tuck them in and leave them there until morning! 😂
Why do women come to my sound baths?
Often, it isn't because they're particularly interested in sound healing.
They're simply tired.
Busy lives, work, families, caring responsibilities and the general mental load of being a woman can leave very little space to simply stop.
A sound bath gives you permission to do exactly that.
Women often tell me afterwards that they feel deeply relaxed, lighter or simply more able to breathe. Some tell me they've had an amazing night's sleep afterwards.
Everyone's experience is different, though, and there's no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath.
What if I can't switch my brain off?
You're very welcome. 😂
You don't need to arrive calm.
You don't need to be good at relaxing.
And you certainly don't need to empty your mind.
Your thoughts might wander. You might notice the sounds. You might think about tomorrow's shopping list and then come back to the bowls.
That's completely normal.
This isn't another thing you need to be good at.
What should I expect at my first Calm Queen sound bath?
I'll help you settle in and make yourself comfortable before we begin.
Then you can simply lie back and allow the sounds to wash around you.
There's nothing to perform and nothing expected of you.
Just an hour where you can stop doing and simply receive.
Curious about trying one?
If you've been thinking about coming to a sound bath but weren't quite sure whether it was for you, consider this your invitation.
Come exactly as you are.
I'll meet you there. 🌿👑
